The curriculum at The Knox School is integral to a whole school learning community building on and growing out of the early childhood and Primary Years' experiences and consolidating foundations of essential learning for the challenges of the post-compulsory years. By adopting the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), with its three components of Physical, Personal and Social Learning; Discipline-based Learning; and Interdisciplinary Learning; our curriculum provides essential learning to prepare our students to take their place in a rapidly changing world.

On 8 attractive hectares in Melbourne's leafy eastern suburbs, The Knox School is a young, modern school with up to date facilities including a unique multimedia studio, state-of-the-art Hospitality and Food Technology centre, two libraries, performance and assembly auditorium, computer classrooms and health centre.

Located throughout the grounds are a wide range of sporting facilities including a synthetic turf hockey field, tennis courts, extensive ovals and a multi-purpose sports centre housing two indoor basketball courts and a fully equipped weights room. In 2009 a new centre for adolescent Health and Wellbeing opened to house the Upper Middle School and caters to the important needs of these young people in their emerging adulthood.

The Knox School is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational school for students from Pre Prep to Year 12.

We have major student intakes in Pre Prep 3 and 4, Prep, Year 5 (commencement of Middle School), Year 7 and Year 10 (commencement of Senior College). The Knox School welcomes families from all faiths.

Our total 2010 fees (including compulsory levies) range from $9,000 - $17,083 pa.

The compulsory levies cover compulsory extras applicable to a particular year level. These include camps, excursions, the swimming program from Prep to Year 6, the music program from Year 3 to Year 7, library and laboratory curriculum materials, the school diary, ID cards, duplicated classroom materials and careers counselling material (where relevant).

With only 800 students across the entire campus, The Knox School has a true community spirit. Students and their families are known personally to the Principal and staff and is a place where scholastic and cocurricular achievements are recognised and applauded.

The Knox School has a commitment to small class sizes with no class larger than 24 and some considerably smaller. Our School runs a daily timetable of five 70 minute periods allowing for in-depth lesson expansion and learning.
Our award winning Music and Performing Arts programs are first class; our sporting teams are frequent premiers and our teams in the Tournament of Minds have reached National finals.

We provide free music tuition from Years 3 to 7 and a free after school homework club supervised by specialist teachers is available.
