From its humble beginnings in a hall in Reservoir 30 years ago (1979) to the present stage of development the College has welcomed families and children of diverse ethnic origins, ability levels and denominational traditions, In this way the College is a vibrant inclusive Christian community, demonstrating the biblical values of respect tolerance, understanding and love.

This is a plan for the future. It describes the dreams and vision we have to maintain our resources and develop and improve in every way. We acknowledge our dependence on God, our Father and Provider for wisdom, unity and many gifts of grace. We also acknowledge the financial support of the Australian Government in capital grants for buildings and through numerous other funding arrangements.

We are blessed to have a government that supports our faith-based education and gives parents the right to choose a faith-based school for the education of their children.

The College Campus is compact, but attractive, and in recent years much work has been done to make the grounds safe and welcoming, with a range of spaces to cater for students of all ages and temperaments.
The permanent buildings are grouped around a central multi-purpose court.

Rooms are spacious and high quality equipment and furniture ensures that the curriculum can be delivered effectively. Specialist areas include: Library, Computer Lab and Media Studies Rooms, Science Laboratory, Art Room, Music and Drama Centre, Home Economics, Design and Construction, and Indoor Games Area.

Paved courts, the oval and an Adventure Playground cater for physical education and recreation.
The College also uses local sporting and recreational facilities to ensure students have variety and interest in sport and fitness experiences.

The College curriculum is rich, creative and comprehensive recognizing a range of abilities and learning styles, providing skills and tools for all students from Prep to year 12. Learning is never values-free. Christian Education explores life and our physical world from a biblical Christian perspective. Clear behavioral expectations provide security and moral development and guidance, based on the biblical vales of respect honesty, fairness and compassion,

Northside Christian College Primary Department is an exciting and innovative place to be! We have recently expanded to have 7 straight classes, 1 at each year level.

Primary students are involved in engaging activities such as the Prep and Year 6 Buddy Program, POP (Primary Options Program) an elective program for Grades 3-6.

Students also participate in a weekly assembly on Friday afternoons at 2:40 in the Multipurpose Room, which parents are welcome to attend.

All primary students at Northside Christian College complete classes in English, Mathematics, Bible, Integrated Studies, Information Technology, Physical Education, Music and Art. All Junior Primary students also participate in a Movement for Learning Program, designed to enhance gross and fine motor skills. Middle and Senior Primary students learn Italian as part of the LOTE curriculum.

Year 9 at Northside is a Year of Challenge for the students. Year 9's face the challenge of moving from childhood to young adulthood and dealing with their studies and their relationships in a more adult manner. It is also a time when many students find the restrictions of normal classroom life very difficult.

We extend and support them through this time by engaging them in a series of challenges outside the classroom. Year 9's take part in several camps throughout the year, experiencing such activities as high ropes course, surfing, snorkelling, bushwalking and also spend six days in consecutive weeks using the city as a classroom. These activities lead to a growth in self-esteem, new knowledge about themselves and their class-mates, and a greater confidence in their ability to deal with new and challenging experiences.

MOODLE.

Moodle is an open-source network content management system to help educators create effective online learning communities. Northside Christian College has begun using Moodle this year to communicate with parents and students regarding homework and assignments. Moodle is also used to give students access to worksheets and internet links relevant to their work.

Students are encouraged to check Moodle every night and to contribute to discussion forums in their subject areas.

Students require a user name and password to access Moodle.
Parents are able to access Moodle through their child's account.
